ATTENTION: THE NEWEST CROP OF BABY NAMES HAVE ARRIVED!

Aug 24th 2019

At Baby Be Hip, so many personalized gifts filter in and out of our office daily – and one of the most interesting aspects of the whole process is getting to see the names that people have chosen for their new baby! Whether it’s a newborn or not, it’s always fun to see which direction parents went when choosing a name – the traditional route, a family name, or a new crop of trendy names that are making their way into the scene these days.

We’re seeing a lot of gender neutral names – ala Jessica Simpson and her new baby girl, Maxwell Drew – along with Casey, Corey, Reese, Tyler, Aidan, Quinn, and Jamie that are appropriate, trendy names for either a boy or a girl. Then there’s Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, and all of the Jolie-Pitt kids with their array of never before seen (or heard) names, and who could forget little Harper Beckham, Suri Cruise, or Jay-Z and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter? Slowly but surely, these A-list celebrity trends are becoming some of the most popular names for newborns.

We’ve recently seen a flurry of the popular boy name Mason (an ode to Kourtney Kardashian’s fashion forward toddler), as well as Drew as a girl’s name, and unique names such as Hadley, Adeline, Anouk, Maisie, and Wyatt, which are actually climbing their way up the popularity ladder. Traditional names are getting non-traditional spellings, such as Ashleigh, Patryk, or Cristian. Don’t get me wrong, though, just because a flock of new names have arrived doesn’t mean the classics like Jack, Emily, or Daniel, among many others, are going out of style. You can never go wrong with any name you choose or how you choose to spell it – and we look forward to seeing it soon in our office!

Leave us a comment and let us know how you chose your baby’s name – we want to know!
