BYE, BYE BOOKCASE: FUN IDEAS TO STORE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS

Aug 24th 2019

We’ve all been there trying to squeeze our favorite book out of the too-crammed bookcase, squinting to read the title on the spine (not to mention if you have a little one at your feet!). We'll say goodbye to your bookcase, because we’ve come to the rescue with some simple tips & tricks to de-clutter your reading time and spruce up your playroom!

If you have children, then your bookcase is most likely filled with board books, big picture books, and all different shapes and sizes of the classic Dr. Seuss and Bernstein Bears. To make it easier on yourself for those bedtime stories, take out your bulky shelves and instead put in long, thin shelves where books can be displayed standing up. Seeing the cover of the books may make your little one more apt to picking one up and wanting to read. It’s perfect for grab-and-go, minimizes the search time, and the added bonus? All of the colorful, playful book covers will brighten up a bedroom or playroom!

Try putting big, full baskets in a playroom, bedroom, or even a family room to hold your books – not only will they act as pretty decor, but they will be big enough to hold everything while still making the space look tidy, and it’ll be easy to dig through and find what you need. Have designated baskets for everyone in the family, or label by categories – hardback, magazines, kids books, paperbacks, etc. But if you have limited space, don’t fret! Get a rotating rack that stands tall, and is the perfect, skinny storage space.

If you keep your child’s favorite books in their room, try a bookcase tree for an aesthetically pleasing, yet highly functional option, making easy and accessible storage. Personalize one of our buckets for a fun accessory that will stay with them from holding storybooks to magazines as they grow older! Or, have a headboard with built in shelves, perfect for reading in bed and will keep books in a nice condition.
